Summary

Following the initial upload of a case, bundles can continuously be updated with new documents until a matter has ended which will involve either inserting files into existing folders or replacing documents that have already been uploaded.

The aim of the session is to know how insert and replacement tasks work.

By the End

You should have been shown the following:

Inserts

  • Combining sessions 2 and 3 to insert documents into existing folders containing documents

Replacements

  • The 'Replace' tool and how it works
  • What to note when replacing documents on the platform

Points to Note

  • The length of replacements should be checked before the task is actioned - is the new file longer or shorter than the original?
  • Once a document has been replaced, the new version of the document will be available on the client workspaces immediately, without a sync taking place. A sync will still need to be run to ensure all of the changes are available on the mirrors.

Following the Session

Ensure you can do the following:

  • Successfully completed an insert task by doing the following:
    • Upload a document into 'In Progress', applied the metadata using 'Properties' and had it QC'd
    • Move the document to the correct location in the shared bundle using the 'Move' and 'Re-Order' tools where necessary
  • Successfully replaced a document
  • Successfully replaced a document and amend the metadata
